Happy halloween! I didn't upload this video until I was happy with it entirely this time.

This is a Light Yagami tribute from the anime Death Note. Special thanks for the respective creators, I did not make this anime obviously and this is just a character analysis/fan video.

This focuses on Light's journey as Kira, the faceless name who creates a new world by ridding the world of unpunished criminals. Light does this after finding a Death Note, an otherworldly item which can kill anyone if you know their name and face, by writing their name in it. After 40 seconds, they will die as detailed in the book or simply by a default heart attack. The other catch is that a Death God, (a Shinigami) follows him around and watches his every move for entertainment the entire time, promising to kill him when his time has come, and refusing to say when that is. Would that keep you on edge?

My intention with this video was to follow the human aspect of Light, more than his supernatural aspects, even while he possesses the supernatural (or does the supernatural possess him?). I thoroughly enjoy the concept of the mind enduring that much temptation, to the point that it begins to constantly fear everything in its wake, because everything is watching and out to get it at that point. There is an illusion of choice that humans have, behind many laws, and Light encounters this full throttle in this amazing anime. His beliefs, as given to him by his police father, is to focus on justice, and that all which is deserved must be given to ensure that justice. When given such an incredible power, Light is completely consumed by it, and due to his own ego and charisma, he believes he is chosen to clean out the world. But in the end, it is all of facade of his imagination. There is no power in this world that someone else doesn't possess, whether your intentions are good or bad, and for the entirity of this video I attempted Light's portrayal at creating a new world, while being constantly watched, constantly on edge, until the break of madness when he is caught, tries to escape, but is broken, and well... we all know the ending by now. And if you don't go watch this anime.

I guess this can count as my Gene Wilder tribute, since he passed, also.
