Death Flying:
If you get blown up or take damage while you are falling into a cannon, you can still shoot yourself out of it. If you have the wing cap, you can fly while technically dead. While in the technically dead state coins and other healing objects won't heal you, and you'll die whenever you touch the ground. You will pass right through stars, simply not grabbing them.
Softlock:
If you ground pound into the star box Mario does his death animation when he touches the box, but the box also breaks. This plays the star animation over Mario's death animation, and Mario gets stuck in a softlock.
