I had the absolute honor of arranging this piece for the wedding of Michael Frank and Shannon Hainline as the bridal processional.
The wedding was yesterday, August 10, 2019!
The two wanted something from Hamilton and I immediately thought of this mashup. I always thought the songs would go great together, so this was a no-brainer.
The song was arranged initially (and for the wedding) for a trio of piano, flute, and bass, but for this recording I also added in cello and viola (I would have done violin but the sound for that is awful on my computer).
This recording is just the generated one from my notation program, Finale, with the string sound files from Komplete Kontrol. I know the balance is way off and there are some weird things (especially the end where it just like cuts off for a beat), but this is truly and honestly the best recording I could get at the moment (I've spent 4 hours total fixing and re-recording before arriving at this one)! I do hope to get a live performance of this once I'm back on campus, so definitely keep an eye out for that!
I really really really enjoyed making this one. Usually it can be a bit tricky and more like a chore to do arrangements, but I was really excited to do this and the songs go so well together that it wasn't really a hassle. Especially since the song was meant to be more focused on Hamilton, with only an *essence* of Pachelbel's Canon.
