Director Eva Libertad’s film explores an unprecedented theme in cinema: the relationship between a deaf woman and motherhood. It tells the semi-biographical story of its lead, the deaf actress Miriam Garlo, whose performance evokes strong parallels with Marlee Matlin’s Oscar-winning portrayal in CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD. She is joined by Goya nominated Álvaro Cervantes (THE SEX OF THE ANGELS), and the veteran Elena Irureta (PATRIA). Through the clever use of sound effects, the film not only fosters empathy for people with hearing impairments but also allows the audience to experience their joys and frustrations firsthand.
