The Namco System 357 (inc. the System 369 and System 359) is an arcade system board based on the Sony PlayStation 3. This is a special arcade fork of RPCS3, the PS3 emulator, called Project OMED, intended to run the arcade titles released for it.
I've never been bothered about trying rpcs3 before - my PC’s ancient and you need a super powerful one for it, plus, I’ve still got a working PS3.
However, I'm a huge Deadstorm Pirates fan, absolutely loved it on the PS3. I’ve never ever seen the Special Edition version in the arcade, hence why I wanted to give emulating it a whirl, to try out the two extra stages from it – Fortress and Tower, even though I knew the performance, wouldn't be great on my ancient PC hardware.
My ancient PC emulates DeadStorm Pirates: Special Edition in slow-mo, so I’ve muted the horrifically distorted audio and sped it up in video rendering to try and approximate what it would like running normally.
You use the mouse wheel to replicate the wheel action here. I couldn’t remember if up or down was left or right and I kept cocking it up… It seemed to be behaving the opposite way to how it was working when I'd had a quick go on the game the day before.
