Hello everyone, Spartan here again bringing you guys a topic I think has been going around for a long time, and that's games that seem to be forced onto the market. My examples from today were the God of War series and Call of Duty, classic examples. Santa Monica Studios produced an AWESOME product when they made God of War. The ending seemed to seal the deal, but Santa Monica had other plans for the series. It seems as if they created a whole new story out of the blue to continue the series and to keep the profits coming. Now, is the story of the sequels and prequels bad? Not at all, personally I love them, but from the ending of the first game it just seemed awkward that there would be other games.
Same goes for the Call of Duty series. For a more up to date example, we go to Treyarch and their offering of Black Ops 2. They said that Woods was dead, claimed him dead, hell he even went into a fiery ball of explosions. Yet....he's alive? Oddly fishy in my books. The story plots of Call of Duty continue to make attempts to make a good story for the players, but we all know that the series is aimed towards it's multiplayer functionality. Campaign mode in that game has turned into a petty excuse to keep the multiplayer going.
Now, this is a business, I realize that, people need to make money somehow, but when do we as customers stand up and say "Hey, I want a good product, not something that took 5 minutes to think of and create."
But, what do you guys think of all of this?
