In Deadly Premonition, you can use a section of road near Harry's mansion to launch a vehicle into the air and over collision, allowing you to drive around OoB in the mountain area. More information below.
Well, the video is really self-explanatory. There isn't much explanation to give.
Drive up the road leading to Harry's mansion until you reach the spot where there's a guardrail on one side and a cliff face on the other. Driving away from Harry's mansion, use the railing near the end to launch your car into the air. This launch can (and I guarantee you eventually will) glide over the collision and into the mountain area that is off limits. You may want to hold right on the control stick as you are flying, that does seem to help (although, I've been able to get over the collision just fine without doing this, it just seems like it may help sometimes).
Once OoB, you can drive around. The area to explore isn't too large, but it's large enough to have some fun in. You can tell where the collision stops, for the most part. If it looks like there may not be collision but just texture, you're probably right. I had the idea to drive along the road to get OoB behind Harry's mansion but it's not possible because the collision eventually stops long before you get to the mansion.
You also can't exit your vehicle and walk around. If you do exit your vehicle, the game will just teleport you back to safe ground on the road.
During the night sequence, you can try to lodge yourself on top of one of the large dogs (kind of like how I do in the video).
The car launch itself is really easy. It may take a few tries to get it, but it really is easy.
