Traveling to what hasn’t been,
I’ve been busy looking in,
& Keeping up with demand multiplies.
(It’s not an option,) that won’t stop us.
There’s a signpost up ahead,
& It’s so close that you can almost touch it.

Clear instructions,
Self-destruction.

Broadcast, televised.
Pretty machines with distracting lights.
(All amplified.)
They suck us in, immobilized.
(Taken over,) empty inside,
We’re absent, desensitized.

I can see the future,
& It sees right through us.
Our reckoning.

Running out of luck, deny it all you want,
But the damage can’t be undone.
I want to believe that something spiritual underlies,
& We’ll leave more than amber fossils behind,
Buried in the dust.
But there’s just not,
We all will rot.

Storm clouds,
Gathering around.
There’s comfort in the calm before they fall,
I can hear the sound.
& It’s so loud,
Ready to pour down on all of us.

(It’s getting closer,)
Mass hysteria.

I can hear them coming in,
Seven trumpets beckoning.
It’s too soon, Without a trace,
Banished to a resting place.
With a view to laugh & watch.
We can count down one by one.

Nothing is enough for us,
No, nothing ever was.
When we surpass our pinnacle,
Don’t forget to program in an applause.

Embed it in the code.
Do what you’re told.
Don’t try to fight it, there is no use,
Written by a python with no burden of proof.
It’s not worth it, there’s nothing you can do,
It’s in control of you,
& Down to numbers we’ll be reduced.
