Hoshou Marine’s original song, as another one of the last remaining few hard songs I had left to do on the game, this was the next possible one for me to go for FC wise. This song first dropped as a bday gift for Senchou and well I didn’t expect it to be a killer tier 29 song. At first when I saw the chart before playing it, I thought it looked insane, but looking closer I noticed the patterns weren’t too hard for me speed/stamina wise. I then attempted my first playthrough for the song and managed to get -4 off FC due to all my misses being in the last chorus to outro. This song is very agonizing overall and took a killer grind to finally put down (about a couple days worth to be exact), and it was painful. The flicks in this song are so annoying and absolutely stubborn, being the cause of the majority of my chokes. I then realized how this game’s engine allows you to hit flicks via sideways motions, and then put that method to use, to which that proved to work very well. I would then still have a few more chokes worth in the last chorus, but not on the flicks, but the last tough part to really ruin your FC. There are many hard parts in this song, but to list them out:
0:30 the intro is pretty brutal to start off, with the flicks being charted in very stubborn places, making the timing to hit them awkward, sideways flicking helps a lot here
1:23 this trill spam roll is annoying to be consistent at with how the sticking is, having to double stroke into double taps, but switching off hands, the very end fill of the section @ 1:28 is also annoying to hit consistently
1:32 - end, the hardest parts start here with the chorus, most of the worst flicks are charted here. 1:45 is an awkward part with the quick doublet flicks, to which you want to scrub them. 1:58 is a horrible quick and tight gallop pattern with the flicks in annoying placements. 2:04 this fill here was killing many of my runs because of how horrible it is to transition in and out of with the flicks, which I missed on the most. After changing to side ways flicks I was finally hitting the hard fill consistently. The most brutal part to get past is the two sets of sudden fast blasts @ 2:08, and I had a few devastating chokes on these up until this recorded run. There is still a little quick blast right after it to easily choke on before the ending sustains, but thank god I didn’t miss on that.
So glad to have gotten this annoying chart done, to which I’ve gotten most of the hardest tier songs done now.
