DEAD is an absurdist comedy short film exploring the bureaucracy of technology, the decline of normal human interactions in an increasingly online world, and the extreme situations people will endure before gaining the courage to pursue positive change.
After losing his wallet and breaking his cellphone, Niko discovers what it means to make a connection.

Jeffrey Smee began his filmmaking career as cinematographer and editor for Locust Street Media, a Pittsburgh based film collective, with whom he still works closely. His work has been awarded in festivals across the US, as well as the UK, and Australia. Previous projects as cinematographer include "Will Work for Views: The Lo-Fi Life of Weird Paul", "Bergeron Brothers, Wedding Videographers", and music videos for the Pittsburgh band "Pummeled". He currently works for a small Pittsburgh based studio where he produces content ranging from local commercials to nationwide promotional content for PPG Paints, and Walt Disney World Resorts. "DEAD" is his directorial debut.
