This was a night time sortie on Persian Gulf at War (PGAW). There was plenty of CAP in the air so I still had a bunch of missiles left by the time I was down to 5,000lbs of fuel. So I decided to go hit the tanker, only to find that everyone else had gone back to base at the same time and the skies weren't so clear anymore.

All I wanted to do was land, but with the damage to my engines I wouldn't be able to outrun anything and I figured my best chance at survival would be to use the missiles I still had and fight my way to safety.

This video is full of poor decisions, rookie mistakes, and sheer dumb luck, but it was quite a twist to what was otherwise an uneventful sortie!
