DCKO's online multiplayer PvP is finally playable, and after spending over an HOUR fighting other players, this might genuinely be the most fun I've ever had with a mobile fighting game. In this video, I'm giving my first impressions and review of DCKO's online multiplayer before showing over an HOUR of raw PvP gameplay featuring characters like Doomsday, Bane, Robin, Starfire, Superman, and Batman. Despite still being an early alpha, matchmaking was surprisingly quick, usually finding matches within roughly 90 seconds, while my US East connection hovered around 40ms with very little noticeable input delay, and even matches on higher-ping servers remained surprisingly playable. What surprised me most is just how much DCKO starts feeling like a legitimate fighting game once you're battling another person, with grabs, heavy and normal attacks, assists, combos, blocking, character swapping, different team compositions, constant mixups, and 50/50 reads completely changing how every match plays. I experimented with everything from the rushdown of Robin to the zoning potential of Starfire and Superman, but Doomsday and Bane quickly became my favorite team, with Doomsday's speed, mixups, and ridiculous special ability making him an absolute monster online. There's already a surprising amount of depth here between character abilities, interchangeable super moves, team building, progression, assists, and learning your opponent's tendencies, and after an hour of constantly trying to make the right reads and avoid getting punished, my brain was legitimately fried. I even managed to win my first three online matches before eventually taking some losses and realizing just how important mastering DCKO's blocking and defensive reads is going to be. The first few minutes of this video are my review and first impressions of DCKO online multiplayer, but after that I'm getting out of the way and letting over an hour of raw PvP gameplay speak for itself. DCKO obviously isn't Injustice 3 and it's still extremely early, but as somebody who grew up playing Injustice Mobile, Mortal Kombat Mobile, WWE Immortals, and other mobile fighting games, DCKO's PvP might already be scratching that competitive DC fighting game itch way more than I expected. Are you playing DCKO, and what do you think of the online multiplayer PvP so far?
