Tonight we reach the grand finale of our Prop Job series, and there's only one way to end this adventure — by taking the mighty Douglas DC-6 to two of the most legendary airports in the world.
We depart Rupsi Airport in India and begin climbing toward the Himalayas, leaving the lowlands behind as some of the world's most spectacular terrain begins to surround us.
Our first destination is Paro, Bhutan, famous for its extraordinary visual approach through narrow mountain valleys. With towering terrain surrounding the airport and very little room for error, Paro is widely regarded as one of the most challenging commercial airports on Earth.
After a full-stop landing, we'll fire up the radials once again and continue west toward Nepal for the ultimate finale — Lukla Airport. Perched high in the Himalayas with a short, steeply sloping runway, mountainous terrain, and rapidly changing weather, Lukla has earned its reputation as one of aviation's ultimate bucket-list destinations.
Seven episodes. One mighty propliner. And for the finale, two airports that should provide the DC-6 with its greatest challenge yet.

About the Flight – The Ultimate Prop Job
Tonight's route has been chosen to give the DC-6 one final adventure worthy of the series:
VERU (Rupsi Airport) – Our departure point in northeast India, providing the gateway toward Bhutan and the Himalayas.
VQPR (Paro International Airport) – Surrounded by Himalayan peaks, Paro's famous visual arrival requires pilots to navigate through mountainous terrain before lining up with the runway during the final stages of the approach.
VNLK (Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla) – The gateway to Mount Everest and one of the most recognisable airports in aviation. Its short, sloping runway and surrounding terrain leave little margin for error.
Douglas DC-6 – Four radial engines, classic systems, and plenty of hands-on flying. After carrying us through the entire Prop Job adventure, tonight we ask the old girl to tackle her toughest destinations yet.
From India into Bhutan and finally Nepal, we're finishing Prop Job surrounded by the highest mountains on Earth.
