Washington (APRIL 15) FOX celebrities were present but poor attendance and a threat marred the Tax Day Tea Party protest staged near the White House. The event, heavily promoted by FOX News and conservative talk radio hosts fell far short of the pre-event hype. Regardless, FOX reporter Rick Jenkins and talk show host Laura Ingraham misrepresented the scope and tone of the event in a FOX News broadcast. MSNBC reported 500 in attendance. My count was 187. There were 226 posts on the official site blog for the DC event but many of those were from the lead organizer. A sparse crowd meant easy access to the stage on every side, not to mention the organizer and TV celebrities from FOX News (how can it be news if its manufactured and promoted?). Later, an incident happened. MSNBC reported that the north lawn of the White House was evacuated because of a package flung at the White House. The package only contained tea bags. To summarize, the DC event was dubbed "The Fizzle in the Drizzle" according to a report by Rachel Maddow and Anna Marie Cox on MSNBC.

![Spill Baby Spill Palin Blames Greenies
Washington, D.C. With the disastrous Gulf oil spill as a backdrop, Sarah Palin lies about her drill, baby, drill mantra championed by McCain-Palin 2008 and numerous Republicans including Rudy Giuliani and the entire 2008 GOP Republican National Convention. Palin is now claiming that she didnt mean offshore drilling which is totally opposite from the truth so much so that this example could be used to define lying.
From Media Matters: After lying about death panels, the Bridge to Nowhere, aerial hunting, and pretty much everything else shes known for, it should come as no surprise that half-term governor turned Fox News analyst Sarah Palin would lie about the mantra that came to define her ill-fated run for the vice presidency: Drill, baby, drill!
And lie she did heres Sarah Palin on Twitter wagging her digital finger at the Extreme Greenies regarding the Gulf oil spill: [S]ee now why we pushdrill, baby, drillof known reserves&promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?
The message is clear: drill, baby, drill was never about dangerous offshore drilling like the Deepwater Horizon site, it was about safe onshore locations like ANWR. Except that it wasnt.
