Daz Dillinger tells his truth about suing his own cousin Snoop Dogg, the Death Row paperwork, what Tupac told him in a dream, and the credits he says Dr. Dre took from him for 30 years.
Daz Dillinger produced some of the most important records in West Coast history and most people still don't know it. He walks Ray Daniels through all of it: how Tupac was the first person to tell the world Daz was really the producer, the lost ADAT tape that erased Inspector Deck's verse from "Got My Mind Made Up," why Redman, Method Man and Inspector Deck were never paid for that record in 30 years, and why "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" is his and not Devante's.
Then the lawsuit. Daz explains copyright reversion and why he says the clock runs out on Death Row in 2028, the fake power of attorney he says was signed while Suge Knight was locked up, Allen Grubman's role in the paperwork, and the dream where Tupac told him to sue because the company would end up telling on everybody.
Ray pushes back the whole way - not on the money, on the family. He tells Daz that lawyers are the only ones who win, that Snoop is boxed in by the people who funded the Death Row purchase, and that these two cousins need each other. Daz isn't hearing it: "just give me my stuff."
Plus the 1995 Source Awards from inside the room, getting shot at on the "New York, New York" video set, his top five West Coast producers, and the music academy he's building in Douglasville after buying an entire elementary school.
