Greetings, survivors! Update 1.24 releases today, our first stable update of 2024, and we're excited to share the details with you.
In the spirit of continuity from previous years, we've dubbed this update the "clean sweep," focusing on a host of QOL improvements and the resolution of various issues still on our radar. While the update may seem modest, it provides a robust foundation for the upcoming updates throughout the year.
Here is a brief list of notable improvements we're particularly fond of:
- Introduction of the Vikhr rifle, equipped with a 30-round 9x39mm magazine, to the 9x39mm rifle family.
- An assortment of ballistic camouflage helmets to increase options for tactical gears.
- Improved weapon handling when interacting with obstacles.
- Increased damage output of blunt melee weapons against infected and animals.
- Optimized gun particle effects for better client performance.
- Refined collision geometry of foliage that improves performance and overall fluidity of movement (both player and vehicle).
- Rebalanced recoil patterns for automatic rifles.
- Additional sounds and animations for more immersion
- Official release of the Linux version for the DayZ server slated for the stable branch.
