What makes a collection of people a community?

On this Sunday edition of Daybreak, Adrian and Clara begin with Matthew 18:15–20, where Christ gives us a remarkably personal way of dealing with division: go first to your brother, speak to him directly, and try to win him back. And then comes the extraordinary promise: “Where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

That Gospel opens into a larger Sunday-morning conversation about Benedictine College’s “Church in an Algorithmic Age” symposium and a curious modern paradox: algorithms can gather millions of people while leaving us profoundly alone.

Around Chesterton Radio, Adrian and Clara also visit The Step Change — When Chesterton Radio Stopped Being a Channel and Started Becoming a Place, and the featured Saturday Night Theatre Companion—an experiment in keeping the conversation going after the curtain falls.

Because perhaps community doesn’t begin with a million followers.

Perhaps it begins with two or three.

Daybreak — faith, culture, curiosity, and good conversation for the beginning of the day.
