Good morning from the little station on Commercial Street.

Today on Daybreak, we begin with the morning paper—stories from Atchison, Benedictine College, the wider world of faith, education, books, craftsmanship and ideas worth noticing.

Today’s Gospel brings us the rich young man and a surprisingly modern question: Is a good life simply about doing the right things and accumulating accomplishments—or are we being called to become something more?

That question leads naturally to today’s featured play, Emlyn Williams’ The Corn Is Green.

At its heart is Miss Moffat, a teacher who recognizes something remarkable in a young man others might easily overlook. It’s a story about education, opportunity, vocation—and the rare people who see possibilities in us before we can see them ourselves.

So our question for this Monday morning is a simple one:

Who saw something in you before you saw it yourself—and who might be waiting for you to do the same for them?

Come have a cup of coffee with us.
