A reception celebrating the United Nations' first-ever Day of the Girl with the She's the First {Campus} chapter presidents, sponsored by She's the First and Jane Cosmetics, Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at Wix Lounge in New York, NY.
She's the First {Campus} chapter presidents were asked to create proposals that would be presented to the United Nations that answer the following questions:
• How do we keep girls' goals and ambitions high when they have few role models for it and face great oppositional attitudes within their communities? How do we help them balance new ambitions with their cultural traditions?
• Are there ways in which technology can assist in the girls' education movement, given the expense and infrastructure challenges to implementation?
• How do we keep people from losing interest in the cause, when we need support to remain steady over the course of an entire education?
