Day 5:
30 Miles, 77k Steps...
Can a trailer, a pair of absolute shredded legs, and sheer willpower survive?
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Two Moors Way, I took on the ultimate backpacking challenge: walking over 100 miles from Ivybridge all the way to Lynmouth.
Remember, I am NOT a long-distance walker! Before this, a 10-mile hike was a massive day for me. So pushing through uncharted territory with a specialized trekking trailer hauling all my wild camping gear has been a true test of grit.
What happens in Day 5?
Leaving the incredible hospitality of the farm behind, my body was screaming, but my mind was locked in. Day 5 pushed me further than I ever thought possible, demanding every single ounce of energy I had left. Skipping 2 night stops I pushed on and on and on and on in relentless stretches of Exmoor, the momentum just took over .
Did the trailer survive? Did my feet hold up? And most importantly, did I actually make it to the coast at Lynmouth?
