Little Jumps in 1st & 5th: The Ballet Cardio That Looks Easy But ISN'T
Day 9 of my 12 Days of Ballet-Inspired Fitness! Today we're jumpingâbut these aren't big, explosive jumps. These are quick, continuous little jumps that get your heart rate UP and your calves BURNING. ð¥
Key tips:
â Small, quick jumpsânot high, explosive ones
â Land softly through your feet: toes first, then heels
â Push off through your toes (articulate your feet!)
â Keep your core tight for landing control
â Arms can be low (first position) or out to sides for balance
â Don't lock your kneesâstay springy!
â Breathe! Don't hold your breath!
â If you can't do 30 seconds straight, rest and continue
These are called "sautés" in ballet - small jumps that build the quick footwork and cardiovascular endurance dancers need. They look simple, but 30 seconds of continuous jumping is HARD. Your calves will be screaming and your heart rate will be UP! ðª
How many seconds can you jump continuously? Let me know!
ð©° Follow for Day 10 tomorrow!
