Day 8 after my facelift felt like officially being past Week 1, but not quite feeling past recovery. The swelling is still there, the tightness is still present, and the day-to-day rhythm of healing hasn’t changed much yet.
In this video, I’m sharing what Day 8 of facelift recovery looks like once the “one week” milestone has passed. How my face feels now, how I’m adjusting mentally to the slower pace, and what this stage actually looks like when healing is still very much in progress. If you’re researching facelift recovery timelines, this is the part where patience really starts to matter.
About my facelift journey (for context):
I’m 52 and I’ve lost about 120 pounds over the last few years, which left me with significant loose skin on my face and neck. This was something I thought about for a long time, researched carefully, and chose to do when the timing felt right.
I chose Dr. Paige Kennedy in Lafayette, Louisiana, through Hubbell Dermatology.
My procedures included a facelift, neck lift, upper blepharoplasty (lid lift), a lower lid pinch, fat grafting from the stomach to the temples and under eyes, earlobe reduction, and salivary gland reduction to improve jawline definition. The total cost was in the low five figures, which I share to help answer common questions and set realistic expectations.
Each video in this facelift recovery series stands on its own, so you don’t need to watch them in order. If you’re following along or researching your own recovery, this is an honest look at what happens after the first week when healing continues quietly.
Today marks Day 7 post-surgery, and I'm sharing an honest update on my recovery journey. The most notable changes include a reduction in **face swelling** and **cheek swelling**, although my **puffy face** still has its moments, even after the **drain removal**. This video also includes a **before and after** comparison to show the progress. I'm keeping my **doctor** informed every step of the way.
