Day 44 of '75 Days of Partition' - Professor Salima Hashmi is a Pakistani painter, former college professor at the National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore, and Dean of the School of Visual Arts and Design at Beacon National House University. She is the eldest daughter of the renowned poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. She was a young girl during Partition and remembers that time period vividly.

Today her art addresses cross-border issues that arose at the time of Partition. She represents the first generation of modern artists in Pakistan who carry an artistic identity different from indigenous artists. Join us in conversation with Dr. Hashmi today on the representation of cross-border issues in her art, and South Asian art in general.
