Sara Dhooma | Day 4- Torres Del Paine O Circuit | Bad Weather John Gardener Pass Crossing, Slippery Mud & a Burger @SaraDhooma | Uploaded February 2020 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.
Los Perros Camp to Glacier Grey Camp (22 km). Tried to leave at dawn but it was too rainy. Mucky climb through the forest then windy and exposed for the rest of the time up John Gardener Pass (4,072 feet). It was a mix of rain, hail, and snow. When I reached to top, the view was socked in white. My hands were freezing and I lost dexterity to operate my cell phone. Going down was very slow because of the steepness and thick mud. Many ropes to help and it was a miracle that I didn’t fall down! Long walking day but really pretty views of Glacier Grey. At the lodge I splurged on a burger and couple beers!
