Sara Dhooma | Day 2- Dientes de Navarino | Snow Fields, Double Mountain Passes, Windy Boulder Hopping @SaraDhooma | Uploaded March 2020 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
Day 2 - hiking the ‘Dientes de Navarino’ trek. Laguna del Salto to some random tenting.
Morning climb up to Australia Pass. This photo was taken on the way down. Raul and Ricardo are making their way across a snowy slope. A slip would be deadly, so I took my time kicking in steps.
Had some wild wind while scrambling on boulders in the afternoon. There was a rumour of bad weather coming through the next day, so we pushed past our intended lakeside camp spot. Before dinner, we completed another mountain pass. I set up my tent beside a beaver pond just as the temperate dropped and it started to rain. Very happy I was warm and dry under my quilt during the rain and hail storm.
