Blackmagic just released DaVinci Resolve for iPad 21.0.4, and while it's a smaller update, it quietly fixes a lot of the things that have been slowing down real edits.
In this video I walk you through everything that changed. Relinking clips now works with proxies in different formats, DRT imports automatically relink to existing nested clips, and your selected clip finally stays in view when you change clip filters on the Color page. On top of that, Blackmagic addressed realtime playback issues on large cached timelines, fixed several retime speed curve editing bugs, cleaned up segment clip suffixes in media management, restored the missing marker notes tag for data burn in, and solved decoding problems with certain DPX files and CR2 stills.
I'll show you what actually matters in daily editing, what you probably won't notice, and whether this update is worth installing right away.
