David was the Managing Director for Commodore UK from 1983 - 1994, encompassing the release of some of Commodore's most popular home computers, games consoles, as well as keeping Commodore UK alive when every other subsidiary closed due to bankruptcy.
Fresh off the back of his incredibly successful Kickstarter for his book "Commodore: The Inside Story", David will be giving a talk about his brand new book, his time at Commodore, and will be doing signings all weekend long.

Originally called Mr Chip Software, Magnetic Fields have been producing games since 1982; they first made their mark in the 8-Bit era with titles such as Trailblazer and Kickstart on the Spectrum, Commodore, and Atari family of home computers.
They made the jump to 16-Bit around 1985 and began to focus on racing games, launching their well renowned series Super Cars & Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge in 1990 to critical acclaim.
Founders Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris will be joining us for a panel talk and Q&A at PLAY Expo Blackpool interviewed by Alan Stewart (Mamemeister), so if youre a fan of all things home computing, or are raring for racing games, you wont want to miss out!

We are delighted to present Steve Hammond who joined us on 10th February 2018 at 4pm at PLAY Expo Blackpool to chat about his time at DMA Design and his upcoming book.
Steve was one of the earliest members of DMA Design, freelancing from 1988 to 1991 and then working full time for the studio until 1997. While there he worked on C64 conversions of Ballistix and Shadow of the Beast as well as many other notable games including Hired Guns, Body Harvest, Unirally and of course Lemmings.
DMA Design eventually went on to become Rockstar North who still develop the Grand Theft Auto games.
Steve said Im looking forward to taking part in a celebration of gaming history, of which Im astounded to discover I was part of! Ill be chatting about what it was like to be in a game company back when it was still a weird thing.
Ill talk about some of DMA Designs games including lesser known ones which were never released. Learn what its like to actually be part of a museum exhibit for DMA, and why I thought it was worth writing a book about them. And also why I think I have circumstantial and shaky evidence that I wrote the funniest game instruction booklet in the world.

Formed in 1982 by Mark Cale, System 3 is recognised as one of the founding pioneers of the gaming industry and are responsible for hits such as The Last Ninja, Myth, International Karate, Putty, Constructor and Ferrari Challenge.
System 3 founder Mark Cale will be joining us to talk about his time in the industry - from the early days to being one of the last surviving British Independent Publishers from the grass roots years.
