David McAlpin is a postdoctoral fellow in the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute’s Remote Sensing Group. At the American Geophysical Union’s annual meeting Wednesday in San Francisco, Dave presented research into whether higher resolution X-band synthetic aperture radar data from TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X can improve water detection performance for narrow rivers or small water bodies.
