Growing up in San Francisco, David Dvorin’s father had unusual aspirations for his boy, encouraging him to become the lead guitarist in a rock band, “…but I rebelled and went to music school,” he laughs. On their new album, “Hard-Boiled Music,” David and his group, Pocket Quartet, play instrumental film-noir through the lens of blues and free jazz. Here, he offers a sample by playing “Daft Variations” on his ’57 Gibson ES-225TD through a Two Rock Studio Signature amp.
