💡Real talk:
This is a statement I’ve heard when I tell an interested guy that I’m practicing abstinence (meaning I rededicated my life to God and no longer fornicating. I decided to wait for marriage to give myself to my husband). They will say “you’re not a virgin”…”we both adult’s…”what’s the problem?”
The problem is a lot of us don’t see ourselves as a new creation who doesn’t have to be a slave to sin once you’ve accepted Jesus Christ.
I’m trying daily to walk as the new creation God made me and I’m not turning back. I love God more and don’t want to live a life of sin. The sexual urges do come, the temptation does come a knocking, the flesh is weak BUT the Spirit is strong. I love God more than sinfulness, more then this world, more then anything and the Holy Spirit helps me to show this by striving each day to keep Gods commandments.
If you’re on your own journey, be sure to invite the Holy Spirit in to help you. It’s going to be bumpy but surely rewarding. Stay focus on God and He will direct you in the way to go. His burden is light, cast yours at His feet and pick up His! Be blessed 🙏🏾.
