Different Dating Methods - Different Results
In 1969 the fossil Mungo Woman was dated, using Carbon 14, at about 27,000 years old. In 1998 the Mungo Woman sediment layer was dated using thermoluminescence. The new age? 42,000 years, 16,000 more than the C14 date. Are you starting to see the problem? Thermoluminescence has a lot of problems, such as not knowing the amount of radiation originally ‘stored’ in the mineral. It's not reliable.
