One day, Shido Itsuka, an ordinary student, comes across a Spirit who has become disillusioned with humanity. Shido's sister, Kotori, then reveals a startling truth: Shido has a unique power to seal the abilities of Spirits. But the method to do so is far from ordinary. To seal a Spirit's powers, Shido must date her and win her heart!
Yamai was once a single Spirit, but something—perhaps related to her ability to teleport between dimensions—caused her to split into two separate beings, each with its own body and mind. The original Yamai's personality and character traits are now lost, and neither of the split Yamais knows what she was like. The Yamai Sisters have become infamous among those familiar with Spirits due to the massive storms they create whenever they come to Earth.
Although it’s unclear when their conflict began, the Yamai Sisters have been locked in a prolonged battle to determine who is the true Yamai. Their contests, which have ranged from non-violent to highly intense, number nearly 100. They each have 25 wins and 49 draws. They agreed that their 100th battle would be the ultimate decider. By coincidence, during a field trip to a southern island with Shido and his classmates, the sisters decided that their final match would be to see who could seduce Shido first to claim the title of the real Yamai. Reine's intervention led the Yamai Sisters to transfer into Shido’s high school just in time to start their new battle.
In truth, both sisters secretly wished for the other to survive. Upon realizing they both shared this sentiment, they became stubborn and refused to allow the other to live. Their conflict continued until Shido intervened, using Tohka's sword, Sandalphon, to stop their fight. He proposed an alternative: if he sealed their powers, they could both live. After some deliberation, the sisters accepted this compromise. They sealed their powers simultaneously and expressed their gratitude with a kiss to Shido.
Following this, they didn’t need to join Shido’s class but were placed in the classroom next door, enjoying a more stable mental state post-seal.
This game introduces an original story and features a new character named Ren. It also includes Natsumi Kyouno, the seventh Spirit, as a part of the game's storyline.
