Prior to the events that transpired five years ago, Origami appeared to be an ordinary girl. In school, she was particularly fond of math, though she struggled with the Japanese language. Her favorite dish was gratin, while celery was something she disliked intensely. At that time, her aspiration was to become a charming bride.
Origami is someone who rarely engages in open conversations with others unless absolutely necessary, with a few notable exceptions like Shido Itsuka and Tohka Yatogami. She’s not particularly shy but rather more of an introverted individual who communicates in a straightforward and blunt manner. Consequently, she shows no hesitation in expressing intense desire towards Shido, even in public situations.
She can be somewhat impulsive or aggressive when driven by a particular objective, often going to lengths others might avoid to achieve her goals. This determination is evident from how she complied with everything Shido asked in an attempt to deter her affections, surprising those around her.
After a Spirit caused the death of her parents five years prior, Origami has developed a deep-seated animosity and hostility towards all Spirits. Whenever she encounters one, she loses her rationality and seeks to eliminate it by any means possible. Her resolve to defeat Spirits surpasses that of her AST colleagues, driven by both revenge and a desire to protect others from experiencing similar loss. This animosity was so intense that she nearly killed Kotori, despite knowing she was Shido’s sister, only halting her attempt due to a combination of her CR-Unit’s time limit, Shido’s pleas, and learning about Phantom’s existence.
As the series progressed, Origami's craving for power grew. This ambition led her to join DEM and, after her defeat, accept a Sephira Crystal that transformed her into a Spirit. Though she felt revulsion at becoming what she once despised, she took some solace in finally gaining the strength to confront Spirits on equal footing. She resolved to be the Spirit that vanquishes other Spirits and planned to end her own life once her mission was complete. However, the transformation left her unable to face Shido, causing her to flee even during her most powerful attack against Tohka.
Upon discovering the truth about her parents’ death, Origami experienced an emotional collapse and reverted to a state of emotional numbness, likened to a lifeless shell. This version of Origami remained in the new timeline, retaining all her memories. Once she addressed her emotional turmoil, the Original Timeline Origami resurfaced as the primary personality.
Post this revelation, Origami regained her memories from the original timeline, cut her hair short again, and released her long-held resentment towards Spirits, reclaiming the emotions she had once entrusted to Shido. She also acknowledged her genuine feelings for Shido and resolved not to surrender to Tohka. Despite understanding her true emotions for Shido, as opposed to merely using him for emotional stability, Origami remains straightforward in her persistent efforts to win his affection.
A year after the Spirits' disappearance, Origami has become more upbeat, frequently smiling, laughing, and even joking.
