LakeFlow Designer is the visual, no-code data transformation experience in Databricks LakeFlow. Youssef Mrini (Developer Advocate) and Jason Messer (Sr. Product Manager) walk through the latest updates and build pipelines live on the canvas.
Designer is built for citizen data users who have outgrown Excel, and for technical users who want a faster visual path to production-ready pipelines.
In this video:
• Prepare and Unique operators, plus spreadsheet-style result table edits that generate operators on the canvas
• Enter Data, Metric Views as a source, and outputs to tables, materialized views, or CSV, Excel, and JSON in a volume
• Email a CSV of results for recurring reporting
• AI operator search, just-in-time custom operators, in-canvas visualizations, and AI functions including forecasting
• YAML, Python, and SQL under every operator, plus notebook export
• Lineage highlights, exact row counts, Run All, and visual revision history
Everything is governed by Unity Catalog, so users only work with the tables they are authorized to access, with full lineage maintained throughout.
