It might seem impossible to change the mind of a racist. And yet, Daryl Davis has managed to facilitate that more than 200 times. His passion for increasing understanding started in 1968 when he was a kid growing up during the Civil Rights Movement, and it’s continued with him throughout his life. Daryl has inspired many to leave high-ranking positions in white supremacy groups and completely change their lives, including Jeff Schoep, former head of the National Socialist Movement, and Scott Shepherd, a former leader in the Ku Klux Klan.

There’s a lot to learn from Daryl, and here are four tips to help lessen the hate in those around us.
