May the 4th be with you! To celebrate Star Wars Day, I’m putting together an epic crossover photoshoot: Aliens vs. Darth Vader. Inspired by the legendary art of Guillem H. Poncin, I’m bringing this sci-fi showdown to life using a mix of budget-friendly model kits and high-end figures.
In this video, I break down the entire process—from building a squad of Blokees Stormtroopers (which actually have better articulation than you'd think!) to 3D printing custom Xenomorph eggs on my Ender Creality.
I’ll also share my lighting setup and camera settings. Shooting a black-on-black character like Darth Vader alongside a massive Alien Queen is a technical challenge, but I'll show you how I managed the depth of field at f/11 and used accent lights to make the details pop.
Figures & Gear Used:
Darth Vader: Tem Studio "Death Star Supervisor" (Unlicensed)
Stormtroopers: Blokees Model Kits
Aliens: Alien Queen & 3D Printed Eggs
Printer: Ender Creality 3D
