For years, I viewed the Darkthrone discography through the lens of pure black metal. Albums like A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under a Funeral Moon, and Transilvanian Hunger were untouchable classics, while some of the later releases didn't connect with me in the same way.
But as my musical tastes evolved, so did my appreciation for Darkthrone's catalog.
Today, I find myself returning more often to albums like The Underground Resistance, Old Star, Eternal Hails......, and Astral Fortress.
