Here it is again
Feels like another Sunday
Are we just running in circles that we can’t see?
I, for one, don’t want to be another number
Oblivious to omens we wouldn’t heed
I don’t want to know
No, I don’t want to know what happens in the end
But what happens in the end?
Will we find just a little peace of mind?
Will we finally see the pulling of the strings?
Will the sickness spread or will it ebb?
Will we find our way out from this darkness we’ve been in?
I feel awake but my eyes never want to open
What happened to the world while I was fast asleep?
More lost lives?
More panicked cries?
More starving children?
We’re oblivious, glued to our many screens
We don’t want to know, no we don’t want to know
Of the problems that we don't see
After all, they're heartbreaking
When will we find just a little peace of mind?
And when will we see the pulling of the strings?
Will the sickness spread or will it ebb?
Will we find our way out from this darkness we've been in
I trust we’ll know which way to go
When the oppressors we’ve come to know implode
I trust we’ll end the hate before it’s too late
We can change the world if we do more than just pray
And just maybe we’ll find just a little peace of mind
Maybe we’ll be the cutting of the strings
Maybe the sickness will spread, but it will ebb
We'll find our way out from the darkness we've been in
