My third jam for song-a-day on day five, getting behind already :) I've been over to my local synth cave again today (Hi Steve) and we were working through a techno rumble tutorial transferring what we'd learned onto a modular system. So I thought I'd have a go at that here too on a basic level. I also had a request from a viewer for a hardcore techno example of the Bass & Beats so I hope this ticks that box too.
The Liven Bass and Beats is producing the techno beat and the acid line with the Liven 8Bit Warps programmed to produce a pad like sound. The Bass & Beats has a mode that pans the beat track over to hard right and the bass and line in channel to hard right so it can be used as a two channel device so I have that turned on here. I used the Line Out to record from so with the headphone socket connected to the Korg NTS-1 used as a reverb I passed the output from that connected to the Behringer Wasp Deluxe just to use it's filter to control the frequencies of the reverb tail. This is then passed back to the Line In on the Bass & Beats so we can use the Ducking control to get the reverb tail pumping. Because the Line In is panned over to a different side of the stereo field this doesn't cause feedback, it would if we didn't but this can still be pretty cool if we control it properly.
A little EQ was used on my DAW to mix the channels together but otherwise everything you hear is the hardware shown.
