A longform video showcasing the design and audio of Chaos Demons that I haven't touched from DS1. This is mostly a completion milestone for me, rather than anything else.
In order of appearance, a little bit of Asylum sound design, with echoey voices. Asylum/Stray/Firesage demon audio. Taurus demon, which was a request and does include quite neat bestial sounds, and Capra demon, also a request, and also featuring distinct audio.
Batwing demons come next, one of the most interesting designs in DS1, as Chaos demons not found within Lost Izalith nor any of its surroundings. Next, some footage of the already covered "Prince", followed by the Cragspiders, who share audio with the Demon's Souls Centipede men.
Next up is a disappointment... Queelag could have used some female voice audio, but nah. Nothing interesting with her sister either. Burrowing Rockworm comes right after with some cool sounding audio. Firesage is next just to drive further home that the copy-paste demons share everything, audio included.
Chaos bugs are next, and while a bit lacking, not often do you hear insect-like audio in these games. Centipede demon follows... and honestly? Probably the most elaborate sound design in this video. Chaos Eaters, on the other hand, are a bit lacking, although their main punch is visual.
Lastly, Demon Statues. I have a soft spot for these. How cool is it that these demons are both found as hostile enemies, but also literal... living statues? The two massive ones perched above you in Lost Izalith are cool as hell. A shame the level couldn't really be fleshed out.
00:00 - Asylum Echoes
00:20 - Asylum/Stray/Firesage
00:50 - Taurus
01:25 - Capra
01:55 - Batwing
02:40 - Cragspider
03:10 - Quelaag's Spider
03:50 - Burrowing Rockworm
04:20 - Firesage (again)
04:50 - Chaos Bugs
05:15 - Centipede
06:00 - Chaos Eaters
06:35 - Demon Statue
Give a tip if you so wish!
