The Apple TV+ sci-fi show Dark Matter has returned for its second season, and the premiere episode finds the Dessens looking to find a “Quiet Life” in a new reality. Jason 1 (Joel Edgerton) and Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) have settled into a new world, but one of the Jason variants found them. Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) and Amanda meet up in the utopian world, where Ryan tries to make his way home. We also see that Hat Jason and Leighton have hooked up with new characters that promise new directions for Season 2.

Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels and celebrating the 10th anniversary of its release this year, “Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken. In season one, the series followed Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life.
