This is a test for recording a small portion of gameplay from a Macintosh Classic. Prepping for some "let's play streaming" for #MARCHintosh 2022
marchintosh.com
The game is 1986's Dark Castle from Silicon Beach Software, Inc.
The video signal comes straight from 4 wires from inside the Mac Classic, into a RGB2HDMI device (github.com/IanSB/RGBtoHDMI) and makes its way to a PC via a HDMI usb capture device. The sound signal is brought from the headphone jack straight into a mic in on my modern PC.
This footage is *NOT* emulated, it's captured at the source. The pixels are tripled in size for modern viewing screens. The original size is 512x342, integer multiplied to 1536x1026, the rest being filled with black.
The potential occasional video jittering is the instability of the video signal on the real machine, which needs recapping on its analog board to bring the DC voltage more stable, which I plan to do soon.
