Daria's parents are a quintessential part of the series. And while it would have been easy to make Jake and Helen Morgendorffer the stereotypical, out-of-touch parents – which the show DOES do sometimes, to be fair – it actually gives them fairly nuanced personalities informed by not only THEIR OWN place in the ‘90s zeitgeist, but also the culture and circumstances THEY grew up in… Plus they're just, really funny.
