Dan Millman Surfaces the inside of a Cabinet.

Notice how Darren uses a straightedge to check and measure the flatness of the surface before using the plane. He is looking to see where the bumps in the hollows are before removing the high spots. This surface is the side of Cherrywood Cabinets against which drawers will run so they must be absolutely flat. See the care with which he checks that surface and then corrects it with a finely set and adjusted plane.
