So here it is, HORIZONS! Things took a bit longer than expected to make this album. I originally planned to have a new album out back in March. However, I wound up stuck, not quite sure what direction I should take the album. All I knew is that I wanted to have an instrumental album. Next thing I know, the cover channel starts to pick up quite a bit, thanks to the DOOM Cover Marathon! So I wound up putting Horizons to the side while I focused on covers.
Eventually, after covering "E1M3 - The Dark Halls" as well as talking to a colleague of mine (whom makes electronic music exclusively), I decided I'd try mixing in some electronic elements.
Anyways, I think this description is running a bit long, so I'll end it here. Im actually very fond of this particular track. Mainly because I remember when Raees first sent over the screenshots of the map, I felt really inspired and I just absolutely loved the design and atmosphere of the level! I also remember being so excited when I finally got to walk around the map for the first time while listening to this MIDI!
A large government building, bustling with men in suits, the ol Stars & Stripes and Union Jack proudly hanging in the busy reception area. BJ had entered into this busy lobby during the night, after narrowly escaping capture by Nazi forces. He was now on his way to report to the Director of the OSA.
This song takes inspiration from the song that plays during the OSA briefings in Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the song itself is actually just titled as Return To Castle Wolfenstein). I really wanted to maintain this somber and heavy atmosphere, in order to go along with the grave situation the world was faced with in the story. Trips to the OSA would be a somewhat frequent occurrence throughout the game (mainly as a means of delivering important plot elements and whatnot).
