In this premiere, Shane covers the previously rare weather phenomenon of Derechos, which have suddenly become more common after devastating the city of Houston on May 16th, leaving 7 people dead and a million without power. Since then we've already seen THREE more Derechos, which struck Oklahoma City, Wichita, and Kansas City on May 19th; Omaha, Des Moines, Davenport, Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay on May 21st; and now Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama on May 26th/27th. These storms are capable of tornado-like damage across a huge area spanning hundreds of miles, and threating millions of people at once while potentially causing billions of dollars worth of damage in a single day.
