Some projects in music seemed destined to happen, and Drive By (The Remixes) is one such project.
Sitting in his San Francisco studio one lazy afternoon in early 2012, artist and producer Cary August was surprised that the song— from American rock band Train—hadn't been remixed for the dance floor, considering it had become a Top 10 hit on the Billboard® Hot 100. Quite literally the very next day, August received e-mail from Dutch producer and Mental Madness recording artist Danceboy (a/k/a Silver Nikan), along with an MP3 of a demo hands-up version of the track he'd created. August knew it was pure serendipity, and immediately put the wheels in-motion to craft an official release, in partnership between CAPP Records (USA) and Mental Madness Records (Germany). You hold in your hands the result.
Written by Train lead singer Patrick Monahan and Norwegian songwriting duo Espen Lind and Amund Bjørklund (the same team responsible for Train's massive 2010 hit Hey, Soul Sister), Drive By became the band's third Top 10 hit in the USA— positioning it well for this incredible dance project. August and Danceboy engaged Pit Bailay (producer for Andrew Spencer) to help recreate the signature rock sounds of the original, recruiting CAPP session guitarist Manus Buchart into the effort as well.
Finally, they lined-up an amazing team of remixers to create the ultimate maxi-single for every dance music lover, including on the hands-up side DJ Gollum, Crystal Lake, Vanilla Kiss, and Danceboy himself. Then on the house/electro side, they brought-in Tale & Dutch, Crystal Rock, Thomas You and Pit Bailay. We think you'll agree it's the perfect soundtrack for the road—and the dance floor.

Rikah lends her sweet and sophisticated vocals to the classic global hit originally recorded in 1995 by the British duo Everything But the Girl—Missing.
Originally recorded as a mellow pop song, it was the legendary Todd Terry who took the original vocals and remixed it for clubs, turning into a worldwide dance hit of the era.
Now, CAPP Records and Rikah revisit the track. More than just a simple cover treatment, CAPP reinterprets the track for todays audiences, bringing a team of some of the worlds leading dance music producers to the project, and taking the song into fresh, new directions.
Global superstar PH Electro (Paul Hutsch) kicks-off the single, while Phun & Key and the incredible Tale & Dutch bring us club-friendly versions. Oscar Salguero (who has co-written
with Rikah some of her past releases) adds his take, while CAPPs own Steely M. & Cary August keep it mainstream. Peter Agyagos goes trance, while Vanilla Kiss vs. Phillerz as well as the legendar y Crystal Lake both go hands-up techno with the track. Theres even a strong dubstep version from Twister!
Canadian-born Rikah was raised by a rock-and-roll family in Toronto, where she joined her family touring virtually everywhere over the years. In 2006, Rikah wound-up in Las Vegas, where submerged in the rave scene, she met CAPP Records Cary August, and found her passion singing atop phenominal house, techno and trance beats.
Currently calling Maui, Hawaii home, Rikah is still going strong. A breath of fresh air in a crowded community of dance vocalists, she brings it all to the table... Smooth, silky, sexy vocals...
