{READ FIRST}:

• So, I made it to the last round of the Goodbye Gossip Girl Competition and this time we were challent with: "AU: No Happy Ending?"
Basically, what I gathered is we had to take something from the finale that we didn't like and make our own finale or at least edit our own AU take on the ending. At first I had absolutely no clue about what i was going to do because, quite frankly, I'm pretty happy with how the show ended. But then, thanks to a little digging on YT, I found my AU story. So be patient with me and read what follows.
(excuse my porr ability to make myself understood. Hope you'll be able to at least get the sense of the vid throuhg the synopsis)

• SYNOPSIS:
Let's just say that dan is the outsider from Brooklyn, lonely boy, with no friends and an ordinary, boring and miserable life (just like he actually was at the beginning of s01).
Let's say then that he is completely mesmerized by the lifes of those people of the UES, whose relationships status' and friendships he has grown to know better than his own life by spending tons of time watching them from the sidelines.
Let's imagine he longs to be one of them but hasn't the courage to step up and fight his way into those people's lifes.
With this premise, He just does one thing he isn't afraid of: working with imagination!
So he just envisiones how it all could be. He pictures himself becoming Serena's love interest and then sort of destroying all of what they build because he harbors feelings for Blair. He imagines publishing a book based on all of his newfound friends and what their reaction could be like. How that could affect both his place in their world and his integrity.
Basically he just wonders "What if.."
and at the end (in the finale of the series), while he walks on the sidewalk, us viewers are left with one big question:
After having envisioned how it all could be like, after having spent so much time unfolding every possible "storyline" of his unreal life, will he set it all in motion by creating gossip girl or will he surrender and continue living in his misery?
