In 2021, Mark Carney sat down with Damien Hirst to discuss Hirst’s ‘The Currency’ project. They touch on several topics, including the role of trust in traditional currency and how art has long functioned as a store of value — often imbued with worth far beyond its materials.

‘The Currency’ consists of 10,000 artworks that exist as either NFT or physical artwork and forced collectors to choose between the two mediums, exploring the boundaries of art and currency.
