So, here we are again, with something new. I fell in love with Tales of Symphonia again, after years. I played the game twice to revive my memories of the story, every bit of it. I watched the OVA and it was more beautiful than I remembered.
I have always loved this game, this anime, this story, this concept. I've never been one for huge story AMVs and lately all my videos have been very much EMPTY in the concept and feels department. I haven't been properly inspired in so long, not like this.
Presea's back story is one of the most tragic stories I've ever heard. It's sad, it's unfair, it's painful. Presea is also my favorite character from the game, she is just fantastic in so many ways.
I don't consider myself a very good story-teller. Nevertheless, I put a lot of work and effort into this video and I've re-rendered it with tiny edits so many times now. It's still not perfect, my work never is, but I am ready to call it finished and I am ready to publish it.
I am dedicating this video to my dear friend Kira, the story-teller queen of all my editing friends. She is just amazingly talented and one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Kira is kind to everyone, I don't think she has one bad side in her and I am just so happy to know her and be her friend. I admire her as an editor so much. The way people, especially the AMV community in Finland, treat her is so unfair and everyone of those people should be thrown in the lake. Repeatedly.
Thank you for everything. You've taught me so much. I know you're not familiar with Tales of Symphonia and this video probably doesn't mean as much as, let's say, a Gravitation AMV would mean to you, but I hope you can appreciate it, as the dedication comes from my story-telling, not the footage. I also know it's a bit of a tradition for you to publish dedication videos in AMV contests, but given that the next upcoming Finnish contest is hosted by YOU, I KINDA CAN'T SURPRISE YOU WITH THIS until, like, Yukicon, and fuck, I'm just not that patient.
